In Pakistan, especially in Karachi, people love to hangout and eat in different restaurants and hotels, varying from road-side to high-end ones. Ramazan (also spelled as Ramadan) is the holy month of fasting and people love to eat at multiple food points to satisfy their craving for scrumptious food. I am a foodie and love to eat “good” food that is hygienic, tasty and worth every penny. Recently I visited Noon Sey Nihari with my friends, a restaurant which is quite famous for its Nihari (you can get more than just Nihari over there by the way). Let me walk you through with my firsthand experience with Noon Sey Nihari.
Nihari At Noon Sey Nihari

As many of my readers are from outside Pakistan, including USA, Canada, and UK, allow me to introduce you with Nihari (I know my Indian and Bangladeshi readers are already aware of this lovely cuisine). Nihari is actually a Delhi based dish which is served steaming hot. Nihari can include Beef, Chicken, Mutton or Lamb, mostly it has beef in it. Beefy-stew is slowly cooked for hours and even days and served with brain and/or bone marrow; garnished with green chilies, sliced ginger and lemon etc. It is one hell of spicy food item that is very famous in Indo-Pak.

Coming back to my experience at Noon Sey Nihari, it’s a newly opened restaurant for dining in Clifton, Karachi (just opposite to Salt N pepper Village). We ordered 3 main dishes including Nihari (beef), Farmaishi Fish (Requesting Fish) and Brain Masala. In addition to these, I also ordered Shaahi Tukdey and Mango flavored Kulfi with Mentha (Mint and lemon based digestive drink).
Nihari tasted delicious. I am usually not impressed by Nihari but I loved the Nihari because of one reason; it tasted very much like the authentic Nihari which means that the stew was not too thick. It tasted very much like what we eat in our homes.
Farmaishi Fish At Noon Sey Nihari

I had Farmaishi Fish later and it was served with garlic rice; a fine blend of spices and flavor. It is recommended for those who prefer to eat fish with no bad odor and great taste. Brain masala tasted just the way I like it to be that is a little spicy, finely chopped and properly cooked.
Shahi Tukrey were fit for those who love a heavy dose of sweetness. After all, that is how Shahi Tukrey are supposed to be. On the contrary, Mango Kulfi was immensely yummilicious. One could taste the authentic flavor of mangoes in the Kulfi, it was creamy, dense and perfect for Kulfi and Mango lovers.

Lastly, after eating such heavy food I drank the best digestive and refreshing drink called “Mentha” it is a mint based lemon drink, a bit strong to help the food to digest easily. The entire experience was satisfying and very tasty. It felt like I was eating the traditional food cooked by someone who exactly knew what originality means.
