So, today I visited Lal Qila to try its Brunch with my family. I have been to Lal Qila for numerous times since late 90’s, in fact Lal Qila is one of the restaurants which got immense popularity back in 90’s and a huge market of Village Salt n Pepper shifted to it. Later Shan-e-Mughlia tried to enter in the market with same USP but couldn’t get as much popular and failed to become that Go-To-Restaurant. Hence, Lal Qila still holds a good market share from masses.
Lal Qila Brunch – Food Review
The food quality of Lal Qila is consistent, although a few years ago the quality faced a dip and then the management made efforts to lift the standard again. And since then there is no looking back.
As far my today’s experience is concerned, the food was okay. Nothing extraordinary. Lal Qila is good for mass outing and eating. Friends in groups and large family gatherings can enjoy there but if you are looking for authenticity of the food then as per my tastebuds it’s not the priority by any means.

For instance the barbecue items (kebabs) were too oily, chicken wasn’t tender. Briyani and Murgh Cholay were there but were not even close to the taste which one expects to experience. I personally liked Dum Ka Qeema, and Fried Prawns were more of like Crispy Fried Prawns, so they were unusually good.
I will recommend Lal Qila to those who want to have a good time with larger gatherings where the focus is in discussion and not on food. Iykwim.
Dessert bar was not appealing, I tried Shahi sheer (not recommended), Gulab Jaman (Would be great of they were hot, they were colder than room temperature), Pudding (Decent) and Shaahi Tukray (totally off – too hard).
