Whenever I get free time to spend with family, I head towards an eatery to try something different and yummy. Recently, a friend recommended visiting The Patio in Karachi, as there has been extension in the menu and according to her it is worth giving a try. So, last weekend I visited The Patio to check out the latest additions to the menu.
The menu is redesigned with an addition of different food items in the starters and main course. In the starters there were
– Wasabi Pineapple Prawns
– Bresaola With Arugula And Parmesan Cheese
– Honey Crunch Lotus Stem
– Margherita Flat Bread
And in Main course, there were:
– Jalapeno Chicken
– Peppered Beef Fillet
– Veal Medallion
– Baked Lemon Sole
– Seafood Gratin
– Saffron Seafood Pasta
After going through the menu in detail, we ordered Bresaola with Arugula and Parmesan Cheese, Wasabi Pineapple Prawns and Honey Crunch Lotus Stems for the starters and from main course we selected Jalapeno Chicken and Saffron Seafood Pasta.
Wasabi Pineapple Prawns were quite high on tinge and that made them an eye opener for all of us. Most eateries are a bit light on wasabi but at The Patio expect the otherwise. Prawns were fresh and pineapples were properly chopped in same block sizes.

Bresaola with Arugula and Parmesan Cheese was good, as per my liking. Slices of beef were finely (thinly) sliced with good presentation of cheese and rocket leaves. It looked and tasted very good. It’s highly recommended!

Honey Crunch Lotus Stems were nice, chewy, crispy and tasteful. But try to consume them immediately as they arrive to your table, after 15 minutes they won’t taste as they did when served. Make this a note.

After a decent experience with starters, main course was a disappointment to be honest. Jalapeno Chicken, that was served with potatoes and veggies, was not tender and very hard (read: dry) from inside. So, it is something which I won’t be ordering again, if I pay a visit to The Patio.

Saffron Seafood Pasta was again something which was served half-heartedly, as it lacked presentation skills. Plus, it tasted below average as compared to what others are serving in the town. So, going to The Patio for Saffron Seafood Pasta is not a sane idea, for those who like the same as authentic and eye-pleasing food item.

Final Words: The Patio Experience
Out and out, my visit and experience at The Patio was not a good one in terms of satisfying my taste-buds. The team should think seriously on adding value to the food experience for its visitors. I rate my experience at The Patio a 2.5/5 (in best mood and being a bit polite).
