Tripda – Bloggers Meet Up

Marketing is an art. Not everyone can be a marketer; it takes a lot of practice to polish ones’ marketing skills. A good marketing plan along with a great product can do wonders. These days, in Pakistan, the concept of entrepreneurship is developing and excelling like nothing else. There are some great mentors along with countless “growth hungry” budding talent who are waiting to make a dent in the universe (Hint: Steve Jobs) and they are continuously striving to make their dreams come true. Thanks to all those rebels like Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Jehan Ara Pasha, Badar Khushnood and countless others who have actually set phenomenal examples in their fields.

I recently attended a bloggers’ meet up, organized by Xenith PR at the much talked about tech-incubators of Karachi i.e. Nest i/o. The bloggers’ meet up was held to create awareness for the newly launched start-up called Tripda. Tripda is fundamentally a carpooling platform, backed by Berlin-based and recently listed Rocket Internet. It can easily be accessed through an app, Tripda Pakistan, available on Google Play and App Store.

Tripda was initially launched in Brazil, almost 6 months ago. Within a small span of time Tripda App has conquered and established its market in 12 other countries (shown below)

In Pakistan, commuting can be quite hectic, especially in cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Tripda Pakistan claims to make traveling easy, fun-filled, and safe for travelers. Tripda is a unique carpooling concept where one person not only saves a good amount on traveling from one part to their destination but also gets the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals.

Concept Behind Tripda

As far as the concept of Tripda is concerned (shared below), it is interesting.

Why Tripda

I personally think that Tripda is a great way to

  • Meet new people, including professionals and students. Well, both are good to interact with as far as they keep sharing quality information. Making friends out of a simple and small trip in an additional benefit. After all, we are social animals at the end of the day.

Available Rides At Tripda

  • Save money, this includes divided fares. We all can recall the times when we go all alone and pay entire charge from our pockets and the days when we share the ride with friends or colleagues and divide the final bill. Paying 3,000/- PKR a month is better than 7,000/- PKR. Isn’t it?

Tripda Sharing Costs

  • Keep your city greener, remember traffic jams in rush hours and the times when you can only witness cars, busses, bikes on the streets? The interesting thing is that most of the times, it’s only one person in the car i.e. the driver. Imagine deducting at least 3 to 4 drivers by adjusting in one car. The traffic flow will be 4 times smoother than that of current, plus it will help save the environment. Makes sense?
  • Increase safety, first time is always a bet, ‘you have to risk it, to get the biscuit’. Once you get to know the driver and fellow passengers then rest assured that you’ll get a safe ride home/office.
  • Manage traveling as per your convenience, it takes hardly 2 minutes (or 6, if you have a slower internet package) to search, and book your ride. Apps are the most commonly used things by SmartPhone users, right?

By the way, for all those who might question that

‘Does Tripda take any responsibility of safety?’

The answer is ‘NO’

It’s just a platform; Tripda makes things easier by linking you with available options/rides. You are wise enough to make your own call.
