Digital marketing is a serious business; those who consider online marketing a hobby or often say that it’s a “not-so-serious” profession, they should focus and dig deeper. In Pakistan, digital marketing agencies are being established at a very fast pace. The drawback is that there are very few institutes and organizations which are actually educating youngsters about real digital marketing. It is vital to follow digital marketing ethics and without proper digital marketing courses and training it is close to impossible to follow best practices.
Recently, I have noticed that many young (and very talented) bloggers are contacted by newly established PR companies and they are pitched to share press releases issued by companies. This practice is becoming viral. Every week dozens of press releases are flooded in the inboxes of bloggers and website owners with just one focus in mind i.e. to share them on their respective platforms – as it is.
This is malpractice. Bloggers in Pakistan and website owners should keep in mind that sharing press releases exactly the same way can hurt them and no one else.
Google Strictly Dislikes Duplicate Content – Don’t Ignore Basic Digital Marketing Rule

Plagiarism is the most offensive term for bloggers and content writers. Those websites which publish duplicate or plagiarized content face the consequences. Many digital marketing PR companies share Press Releases with bloggers asking them to publish these as soon as they can. Bloggers, in order to keep those high profile PR companies happy publish Press Releases (mostly without altering) on their blogs and sites. This drastically affects their websites and blogs – adversely. For the sake of your own reputation, don’t ruin your market guys!

Why Do Bloggers In Pakistan Want To Lose Their Blogs’ Authority?
Bloggers are taken for granted in Pakistan. The real duty of a blogger is to share their personal take on anything – and not copying and pasting. This is one of the reasons why most of the bloggers are not professional bloggers (because of lack of knowledge regarding do’s and don’ts about the blogging and content writing industry).
Is This What You Think Digital Marketing Is?

Sharing duplicate content on your blog is neither content writing, blogging nor digital marketing. This shows that a blogger or site-owner who’s running the blog is not professional to understand the difference between sharing a press release and copying a press release.
What To Do?

Press releases are shared on multiple platforms, that’s why they are shared with media and bloggers but there are some professional and decent ways to share press releases. For instance, adding one’s own perspective to the press release and sharing just the quotations is the proper way of sharing any press release. The statements are kept same but the take on the entire event, expressions and situation is described in different terms based on research and writing skills.
I hope this would help followers of digital marketing professionals from Pakistan and digital marketing agencies as well. Let’s get professional and embrace international standards of digital marketing.
