Traditional Businesses In Pakistan Going Digital – Hashmi

Pakistan is a country with unlimited talent in every field of profession. There are local and international businesses fighting neck to neck and enjoying a healthy competition with their respective share of market. It’s been a few years since I have been writing about acceptance of Digital Marketing (primarily talking about Social Media Marketing and Content Curation) in Pakistan’s business industry. Thankfully, over the past few years I have noticed a positive shift in the same. Businesses, which were considered to be less trendy, are now utilizing social media marketing the right way. The integration of digital marketing in Pakistan’s traditional businesses is worth appreciating.

Recently, Hashmi launched its official Twitter account i.e. @hashmisince1794. Hashmi is a brand that has been serving for the last 2 centuries.

The reputable brand has some amazing products which include Honey, Husk (Ispaghol – used for reducing cholesterol, fighting acidity and keeping oneself healthy), Kohl, Rose Water, Perfumes, Henna and Amla Oil etc. All these fall under eye care, health care and personal care. It’s amazing to see how a brand like Hashmi is focusing its attention towards penetrating in the digital world. The launch of Twitter handle by Hashmi is the very first step towards digitalizing the brand.

A bloggers’ meet-up was organized in Karachi, Pakistan at Pranzo (city’s famous café) to launch the Twitter Account of Hashmi’s official account. CEO of Hashmi, Mr. Rashid Hashmi, attended the entire event and shared his vision to take the reliable brand to the next level through assimilating digital marketing, particularly Twitter marketing.

The event of Twitter handle launch of Hashmi trended over Twitter (with hashtag #PoraPakistanRahaHaiBol), which proves the power of social media enthusiasts, micro bloggers and bloggers of Pakistan are capable of taking a respectable brand to another level.

The launch also had a tweeting competition which was a fun activity and everyone got their fingers moving faster than usual to win the prize.
