In Pakistan, Digital Marketing is a growing professional field. Over the last few years, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn have been used aggressively by businesses to promote their products and services. Not only this, brands are now trying to build their reputation through social media and digital channels. In 2013, I attended Dig-IT 13 – A 2 day Digital Marketing & Advertising Conference, organized by Pakistan Advertisers Society. By attending that conference, I gained a lot of knowledge about evolution of Digital Marketing in Pakistan. I wrote a few blogs about that as well, and how to get sign-ups for digital marketers is one amongst them.

This year PAS (Pakistan Advertiser’s Society) is organizing “Dig-IT 2016” in Karachi on 29th of April 2016. And I am very excited!
No matter wherever you go these days, you cannot ignore the sky-rocketing potential of Digital Marketing (including Social Media Marketing and Content Marketing etc.) Recently FPW 16 (Fashion Pakistan Week 2016) trended for straight 3 days over Twitter – that’s the power of social media in Pakistan. Similarly, trends like “Taher Shah”, which is an outcome of his newly released single, was also spotted for the longest time on Twitter. Many brands have also introduced their social media marketing cum digital campaigns, a few of them are mentioned below:
- Servis Shoes: Diltastic – Footwear
- Edenrobe: #PraisingWomen – Lawn Brand
- Cadbury: #MarvellousCreations – Confectionary
- Mountain Dew: #Dewmocracy – Beverage
- Lays: #PlantACampaign / #CleanAndGreen – Snacks
- Mobilink: #AaRahaHaiX – Telecommunication / Cell Phones
So, it is needless to say that digital marketing is becoming an integral and crucial part for organizations and brands in Pakistan. Coming back to what this year’s DIG-IT conference will be all about, the main agenda of Dig-It 16 is to focus and highlight the significance of Marketing Revolution and Modernization. Whether it is a product or service; small or large business entity, digital marketing is the need of time. Today, marketers need to be fully aware of the trends and marketing news along with their competitors’ campaign style and progresses. The industry is pacing up at a very fast speed. One cannot afford to lose focus and direction to attain the best possible results.
